Roads & Construction

The West Earl Township Road Department takes care of the snow plowing in the winter, street sweeping in the spring and leaf pickup in the fall. The road department is also responsible for the following:

  • Paving and maintenance for 45 miles of Township roads.
  • All street signs and road signs on Township roads.
  • All park maintenance for the Township's three parks.
  • Compost facility located at 161 Locust Street in Talmage.

The Township has four salt spreader trucks, eight snow plows and about 20 pieces of equipment and vehicles. The Township has a contract with PennDot to remove snow on 13 miles of State Roads within the Township. The Township parks cover about 19 acres at three locations, 3 acres at the Township building, 9 acres at the Stone Quarry Road park and 7 acres at the Lions' Park in Talmage.
